Why the iPhone 17 costs more than a 15 or 16

Three reasons. First, the phone is a year old, so parts are still scarce in Pakistan and the aftermarket has not caught up; most available cells are genuine pulls or early OEM-grade units. Second, the 17 series uses Apple’s electrically released adhesive, which is quicker to remove but requires the correct replacement strips. Third, a genuine battery is paired to the phone through iOS Repair Assistant, which we complete as part of the job so Battery Health continues to report properly. Do you even need a new battery yet?

Probably not for wear. Apple rates the 17 series for 1,000 full cycles before Maximum Capacity falls to 80%, which for most people is three years of use. Warranty first, if the fault is not damage

Every iPhone 17 sold in the last twelve months is inside Apple’s one-year warranty for manufacturing faults. A battery that swells or fails without damage is a warranty case, and although there is no Apple Store in Pakistan, the seller or importer you bought from should handle the claim. What you will see in iOS afterwards

With a genuine battery paired through Repair Assistant, Settings shows the battery as a genuine part and Battery Health works normally. With an OEM-grade or aftermarket cell, Settings shows an “Unknown Part” notice and Battery Health may read “Service”. The phone charges and performs normally either way.
